OK, I know that I posted some pictures of Las Vegas from my trip to Photoshop World in 2011. And, I know that I posted some pictures from Las Vegas from my trip to Photoshop World in 2013. So, having recently attended Photoshop World this year in, where else, Las Vegas, you shouldn’t be surprised to see me posting more photographs. I guess this is the hat trick.
There’s not much new to say. If you’ve never heard of this event you might want to visit the Photoshop World website. For two and a half days I attended classes on many different aspects of photography including lighting, landscapes, portraits, and software. Most of my photographs were taken of the strange and interesting models that Westcott, a lighting company, always has at their site in the Expo Exhibit Hall. I also had the opportunity to try taking some photos of food, specifically desserts, with professional food photographer Joe Glyda.
I’ve probably said this before, but even though I’m not into gambling and hanging out in casinos, I still enjoy visiting Las Vegas. There are so many colorful lights and buildings and reflections and motion that you’d have to work very hard to not find something at which to point your camera. This year it was very hot, the highest temperature that I saw was 112 degrees. It was nice to walk outside at night when the temperature had plummeted down into the 90s. Some establishments had outdoor misters set up to help passers-by cool off.
It’s a dry heat, of course, and was tolerable in the evening but I must admit that I didn’t have much interest in walking around during the daytime. Next year? We’ll see.
