If you have a Facebook page, you probably know that one thing a user adds to their page is a “cover image.” Some people probably have a strategy for coming up with cover images and maybe even plan them ahead of time. All of mine are chosen after the fact. I just look for a photo that fits my mood and can be cropped to an 851 x 315 aspect ratio without losing anything important.
Having recently updated my cover image for the first time in over a year, I wondered what pictures I’d used in the past. Looking back, I found seventy cover images, many more than I thought I’d find. They were interesting to me because they triggered memories, usually good ones. For example, here’s a photo of me and Keith Richards jamming outside of the former Good ‘n’ Loud Music Store in Madison. Not many people remember that time, but Keith and I do.
Just for fun, I looked through those old covers and dug some out to share. Don’t worry, I won’t show all of them and, since I won’t say much about them, you won’t have much to read.

Since I started this post with a picture of myself, I looked to see if I was in any others. Vanity, thy name is photographer!
I vacation with family every summer on Washington Island. Did any island pics make it into my covers?
How about flowers? There must have been some flowers!
I live in Wisconsin so there’s got to be some winter photos.
Just one more group. Here’s some miscellaneous metal.
And this is my latest cover.
I hope you all had a happy holiday season and are ready for Valentine’s Day!
