A recent story on the evening news listed the most popular destinations where Americans will go to escape winter. Number one on the list was Las Vegas. I’m not planning to go there this winter, but, since I’m experiencing a bit of a photo drought right now, I thought I would post some images from my trip there last summer. I usually travel to Las Vegas every year or two to attend Photoshop World. Since I don’t gamble, when I’m not in a photography workshop, I’m either eating, sleeping or walking around town taking pictures.
Although I usually stay in a cheap hotel, this time I stayed at the Mirage, which is where the conference was held. Fortunately, the conference offered reduced rates. When I arrived I was very pleased to see that the Beatles were also staying there!
One of the nice things about Las Vegas is, even though it’s in the desert, you never have to worry about getting thirsty!
You might think that it gets a bit boring walking around a city that you visit every year or two, but it always seems like there’s something to see. For example, maybe you could see what exciting new talent is playing in town.
Or, you could look for interesting reflections in the buildings that all seem to be full of glass.
Maybe check out some of the buildings in the evening.
You could even take a trip to Venice without having to know Italian! Are you hungry? Mangia, mangia!
Maybe you just want to walk around looking for interesting signs.
Maybe you could find someone to dance with. This woman dances 24/7!
Finally, if you’re getting sunburned and are tired of walking around outside, head inside. Maybe you could find a gift for your significant other.
Then call it a day.
